Fall Home Improvement Tips and Tricks: Get Your North Dakota Home Ready for Winter

As the warm temps and sunny days of summer give way to cooler, fall days those of us who live in North Dakota turn our minds to Fall Home Improvement and getting all those chores done before snow fall.

This weekend was no exception to that as a few days’ rain gave way to a Sunday that allowed homeowners to get out and get some things done.

A number of homes were in various stages of renovating beefing up insulation, replacing siding, cleaning out rain gutters and repairing what needed fixing, like along 2nd Street NE where the city is replacing the aging water mains. Helen Carlson explained that they’ve been working on this project for a couple of weeks already between 6th Ave. and 12th Ave. along 2nd Street, but to complicate matters Monday morning, Sep. 25, they were dealing with a water break in that same vicinity. Fortunately they had the equipment and personnel handy to get right to it and clear that up as well as continuing with the replacement project. Carlson said they only had a couple of blocks left in the replacement project and then that would be completed.
