Quito – Two days before the early presidential elections in Ecuador, the family of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio, who was assassinated last week, has sued the government for “murder by omission”. The government did not adequately protect the 59-year-old, family lawyer Marco Yaulema told journalists on Friday (local time).
