Astrid Jacobsen did not forgive the words that “no athlete should be expelled on the basis of his passport”
The famous Norwegian skier Astrid Jacobsen is leaving the NOC of her country. The Olympic champion was not forgiven for the support of Russian athletes.
In early July last Jacobsen confessed to non-traditional sexual orientation. Before that, several attacks on gays were committed on the streets of Oslo.
“After several days of shock caused by acts of hatred and violence, I realized that I myself could become the object of such an absurdity,” Astrid wrote on the social network.
Then Jacobsen managed – after all, in today’s Western society, LGBT representatives are almost everywhere their own on the board. But as soon as Astrid supported the return of Russian skiers to the world stage in February, the Norwegian media and some local athletes began to viciously persecute her. Even rower Kjetil Borch set the wave, saying that no one authorized Jacobsen to make such statements. She also received direct threats of physical violence. Honest athletes have no place in Norwegian sports – asthmatics need to make room.
