In Russia, they will not refuse fan ID cards at football matches, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, whose words are quoted “RIA Novosti”.

«[Отменять Fan ID] not planned. We see no reason for this,” Chernyshenko said.

At the moment, this document is required only when attending matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL). According to the Deputy Prime Minister, it was not planned to introduce the system in hockey, because there is “a completely different culture of attending matches”.

“There [в футболе] was introduced solely because of the safety of our fans. And we see that the statistics show good results, the almost complete absence of incidents,” Chernyshenko said.

How Fan ID influenced interest in Russian football

The introduction of Fan ID has reduced the attendance of RPL matches. So in 2023, almost all teams updated anti-records. In the autumn part of the season, the White-Blues’ anti-record was 10.2 thousand (the match against Khimki).
