Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham y Helena Bonham Carter joined the tribute to the late fashion designer, Dame Vivienne Westwood in London. Different celebrities chose outfits designed by the “godmother of punk” who died on December 29 at the age of 81.
Scottish checks, texture and bold designs were the key in the meeting around the memory of a woman who invented the punk wardrobe sponsoring the Sex Pistols in the London seventies. The service was held at Southwark Cathedral on Thursday.
The designer and former Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham chose a mourning wardrobe, black to the body with a high neck. British Vogue editor Edward Enninful wore an all-black suit and blazer. Kate Moss also participated and chose to wear a black dress with a floral design and a black blazer.
Actress Helena Bonham Carter, a fan of Westwood’s designs, paid tribute to the late designer in a red, purple and black tartan skirt and blazer ensemble paired with a Westwood pearl necklace.
Rapper Stormzy arrived in an all-black suit and shirt, as did artist Tracey Emin, who wore a long dark coat and tartan scarf.
The actress Elle Fanning He arrived at the service in an all-black ensemble with a 1920s-style hat with a waist-hugging jacket, while the red beauty from Mad Men, Christina Hendricks, dressed in a navy blue and black checkered dress-coat.
Also present was Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie, who wore a classic black suit, Bianca Jagger, Nick and Susie Cave Alexa Chung who played with different textures.
The iconic Vivienne Westwood
It was in the seventies when Vivianne Westwood created a transgressive style that dressed British punk, but that transcended it. She had the ropa SEX shop, Shared with his partner and rock manager Malcolm McLaren, the name Westwood became synonymous with fetishism and originality.
