In the night from Saturday to Sunday, two cars were driving towards Kortrijk and collided with each other. Both cars ended up in the ditch. The toll after the accident was great. The three people who died were all in the car that was hit. All help came too late for them, they died on the spot.
The public prosecutor’s office confirms to HLN that the 50-year-old driver who caused the collision was driving far too fast and tested positive. He has been arrested for questioning and has been convicted at least ten times before.
The highway was closed to all traffic for several hours to allow the necessary investigation to take place.
