Thursday evening, a motorist driving towards Herent, in Flanders, hit the railing of a bridge that crossed the Dommel. He then flew over the water before ending up on the bank on the other side, reports the Nieuwsblad.
According to reports, the driver was taken to hospital in serious condition, where he later died. His passenger, a woman, escaped with a few injuries.
