A black sedan and a gray cargo van collided in the freeway’s express lanes. The impact resulted in the closure of all northbound lanes, according to a SigAlert issued at 5:33 a.m.
While the freeway was shut down for approximately two hours, authorities later revised the SigAlert, reopening the No. 4 lane by 6 a.m.

**Officer Ramirez:** Sure.At approximately 5 a.m., we responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision in the northbound lanes of the 110 Freeway, just south of Manchester Avenue. A black sedan and a gray cargo van were involved in a collision in the express lanes.
Unfortunately,the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The impact of the collision resulted in a full closure of all northbound lanes. A SigAlert was issued at 5:33 a.m.
We were able to partially reopen the freeway, allowing traffic to pass through the no. 4 lane, by 6 a.m.
What caused the accident is still under investigation.
