Fatal shooting of Alec Baldwin: the FBI investigation contradicts the version of the actor

Almost eight months after the drama that occurred on the set of the film Rust involving actor Alec Baldwin, the FBI investigation unveils a new report. A record that contradicts what the 63-year-old actor says. For Alec Baldwin: “he didn’t pull the trigger.”

As a reminder, the actor was filming a scene with a weapon and accidentally shot two members of the film crew. The weapon, which was to contain only dummy bullets, killed cinematographer Alyna Hutchins and seriously injured director Joel Souza. Since then, Alex Baldwin, who also produced the film, has been under investigation by the FBI. At the microphone of ABC, the 63-year-old actor declared that he felt neither guilty nor even “responsible” of the death of Halyna Hutchins. He even stipulated that it was the latter who had asked him to point his revolver at her and that the shot had gone off without his having pulled the trigger.

However, according to initial information obtained by ABC News, Alec Baldwin would have pulled the trigger and fired the fatal shot. As the FBI indicates, since the weapon used is the 45 Colt, it is impossible for the revolver to fire without any pressure being applied to the trigger. The pistol “could not be fired without trigger pull while internal components were intact and functional”, says the FBI report. Alec Baldwin long believed he was using a harmless, non-lethal weapon. “I was told that I was given an empty revolver”he said during an interview.

The report ends with: “Death was caused by a gunshot wound to the torso. However, it is specified that there was no demonstration that “the firearm was intentionally loaded with real ammunition on the set”. Also according to the inquest, the death of Halyna Hutchins should be classified as “an accident”.

Following the accident, the filming of the film “Rust” was immediately interrupted.
