Police in Dong Hoa town (Phu Yen) are investigating the cause of the fire that killed a 2-year-old girl, and her father was severely burned.
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Khac Quang – Chief of Dong Hoa Town Police, at about 13:30 on January 31, Ms. TTS (56 years old, residing in Hoa Hiep Trung ward) discovered that the upstairs bedroom was on fire.
Mrs. S. checked that her son Le Tra Ngoc T. (33 years old) and grandson TA (2 years old, daughter of Mr. T.) were engulfed by fire.
Immediately Ms. S. shouted for help from her neighbors to put out the fire. When the fire went out, Mr. T. and his daughter were both severely burned. Both were immediately taken to the emergency room.

However, TA later died, and Mr. T was transferred to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.
“The initial examination found that there was a smell of gasoline, a gasoline bottle and a lighter in the room,” said the head of the Dong Hoa Town Police.
According to neighbors, Mr. T. recently had a sad story related to debt. The cause of the incident is under further investigation.
