Faustão was admitted to the hospital on August 5 for treatment of heart failure, “a condition that has been monitored since 2020”

Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein reported this Sunday night, 20, that the health condition of presenter Fausto Silva, Faustão, 73, has worsened and there is an indication for heart transplantation. He is in intensive care, the hospital said, and is undergoing dialysis and needs medication to “help the heart’s pumping power.”

Faustão was admitted to the hospital on August 5 for treatment of heart failure, “a condition that has been monitored since 2020”, the hospital said in a statement.

“Fausto Silva has already been included in the single line of transplants, governed by the São Paulo State Health Secretariat, which takes into account, for prioritization, the waiting time, blood typing and the severity of the case”, added the Albert Einstein. The note is signed by cardiologist Fernando Bacal and by the medical director and hospital services Miguel Cendoroglo Neto.

‘Pray for me’, asked Faustão in video this Saturday

Early this Saturday morning, the 19th, his son João Guilherme Silva published a video of Faustão in the hospital room. “Pray for me”, he said, adding that he is very aware that “who decides is the boss up there”.

When talking about his current health condition, Faustão had reassured the fans and said at the time that he was waiting for the medical team’s position on the surgery he should have.

“I’m still in this treatment, they will decide what kind of surgery I can do. I ask that those who like me pray for me”, he said, sitting on a bed at the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, in his pajamas.

“Luckily, I haven’t died yet. I am prepared for the things in life (…). But it’s up to the boss upstairs to decide,” he said. (COLABORATED BY STEPHANIE ARAÚJO)
