Spanish champions FC Barcelona have been given provisional permission to participate in the Champions League this season, as UEFA have opened an investigation into a possible case of corruption of referees in Spain. If Barca are finally found guilty of corruption, the exclusion will be immediate.
In February, TV channel SER Catalunya claimed that Barca had paid €1.6m to the sports company. Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, the former vice-president of the Technical Commission for Referees (CTA), between 2016 and 2018. His organisation, DASNIL 95 SL, is said to produce written reports and DVD evaluations concerning referees. The Blaugrana club deny these allegations.
