The Bochum supporters stayed in the Allianz Arena long after the final whistle and celebrated their team in the away block – despite the bankruptcy of the league leaders.
After the victory in the league and the statements to the journalists, Leon Goretzka was still in the players’ lounge in the VIP area of the Munich stadium. From the balcony of the box, he recorded the fans’ video and posted it to Instagram. He wrote: “90 minutes after the final whistle.” The emoji: Well, what else can you say ..?!?

The Munich midfielder spent his entire youth at the Pott-Klub and was even born in Bochum. The national player only switched to FC Schalke in 2013 after twelve years, and in 2018 he went to Bayern on a free transfer.
With this video, Goretzka published a small token of love towards his homeland and his youth club.
In addition, the game day was a special one for the supporters of VfL!
They celebrated 50 years of fan friendship with FC Bayern. Both fan camps had planned a joint choreography for the anniversary and showed it in the curves. In red-white and blue-white with the motto: “50 years of Bavaria and VfL – found decades ago, connected forever.”
During the game, the Bayern ultras sang “VfL” for several minutes, while Bochum responded with “FCB” in antiphon. Before the kick-off, the Munich team played the guests’ anthem (which isn’t usually the case) – the VfL song “Bochum” by Herbert Grönemeyer (66).
So before the 3-0 goosebumps moment with Grönemeyer for the Bochum boy Goretzka. And after the final whistle the crowning glory with the VfL chants 90 minutes after the end of the game against his home club!
