For FC Bayern, Manchester United is about almost nothing in terms of sport. However, the record champions can intervene decisively – and annoy the competition.

The home game against FC Copenhagen (0-0) and the upcoming away game at Manchester United? Bonus games for the record champions – at least when it comes to their own sporting goals. Because after Munich’s 1:5 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt, a reaction is expected from the Tuchel team.
And FC Bayern also has a responsibility in other ways, namely towards the other group opponents. In addition to the Munich team as group winners, every team can still secure second place and thus a place in the premier class over the winter.
United must win
Bayern’s opponents United have the worst starting position, going into the group finals as bottom of the table with four points. Since Copenhagen and Galatasaray (five points each) face each other in a direct duel, it is already clear: United must win against Bayern in order not to be eliminated from the Champions League.
Tuchel’s team can spit in the soup of the English top team and prevent a well-known club from remaining in the competition. If the Munich team were to win at Old Trafford, United would no longer have a chance of third place and the associated overwinter in the Europa League. The international end would be sealed for this season.
Bayern will definitely have to do without offensive player Serge Gnabry in Copenhagen, for whom 2023 has already ended (read more about this here). And keeper Sven Ulreich is not traveling to the island either. He is suffering from a capsule injury in his right ankle.
