“FDA recalls Texas Pete hot sauce for undeclared allergens”

The US Food Drug Administration (FDA, for its acronym in English) issued a recall alert for Texas Pete hot sauce for containing undisclosed allergens on the label.

And it is that the FDA indicated that Texas Pete Buffalo Wingproduced by TW Garner Food Company, is being withdrawn from the market because it may contain soy that was not declared on the label, which represents a risk for people allergic to said component.

Contains soy not declared on the label

Although so far no cases of sick people have been reported from consuming said sauce, the company that produces it asks consumers allergic to soy refrain from consuming itaccording to what was published by the WFTV 9 site.

The product to be withdrawn from the market is Texas Pete Buffalo Wing Saucehot sauce packaged in a 12-ounce glass bottle.

Another of the data of the recalled product is the one that has the UPC number 0 75500 10011 6which is printed on the label.

Consumers who purchase this sauce must verify in the same way the expiration date which is December 6, 2023, which is visible on the bottle cap.

According to the company, the problem arose in the production process when placing the label that does not warn that the product contains soywhich can cause serious health problems in people allergic to the substance.

Where was the sauce distributed?

The sauce was distributed in retail stores located in some states of the country, such as: Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas y Virginia.

One of the recommendations of the FDA and the company that produces Texas Pete sauce for consumers is to take the product to the store where it was purchased to obtain a refund.
