Independent game studio Jukai Studio and Versus Evil have announced that psychological horror and mystery game Stray Souls, which will be released on PC, PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox Series S|X this Halloween, has participated at Feardemic’s FEAR FEST, Black Summer, and premiered a new trailer.
In the trailer, which was unveiled as part of the two-day celebration of horror games, you’ll meet Daniel, a teenager who inherits a house from his estranged grandmother. As he moves in, Daniel meets the enigmatic Martha who knows more about the house than he realizes. As night falls, dark occult secrets hidden in Daniel’s home and past come out of the shadows – secrets that Daniel can’t seem to untangle…
Stray Souls combines the most beloved elements of Japanese survival horror games with a host of new tricks, including a variety of random systems where enemy encounters, item locations, paranormal activity, and even weather conditions change constantly, so that no two passages are exactly the same. Using Metahuman technology and the Unreal Engine 5, characters and environments come to life authentically, immersing you directly in the dread and dismay of the narrative.
Featuring new music by legendary Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka, Stray Souls creates a truly immersive experience using next-generation console technologies, running in 4K 60fps and supporting haptic feedback on the PlayStation 5.
Stray Souls will be released on PC and consoles sometime this Halloween.
