During the visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to Beijing on May 17-19, the financial model of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project will probably be approved. Akylbek Zhaparov, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, announced this at a joint meeting of the parliamentary faction “Ata Zhurt Kyrgyzstan” and the deputy group “Mekenchil”.
According to him, the feasibility study of the project is ready, adaptation work is underway.
“As you know, there will be a narrow railway to Kazarman, then a wide one, it will be connected to the Uzbek section of the railway. The project cost is estimated at $3-5 billion. 57 tunnels will be built on the territory of Kyrgyzstan alone,” the head of the Cabinet said.
