Every year, the announcement of a new range of iPhone rocks the internet and pushes millions of people around the world to follow the Apple conference live. The Apple brand should therefore do it again in 2024 for the launch of its different iPhone 16 models…

Alongside the iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and other AirPods, it is indeed the iPhone which still constitutes the flagship object of the Apple brand. The current model has barely been marketed when the next one is already the subject of numerous rumors and rumors. Speculation is rife, whether it’s price, technical characteristics or new featuresand all Apple-addicts are impatiently awaiting the officialization of these details by the manufacturer.
Only a few months after the release of the iPhone 15, it is already time to turn to the next range of phones from the Apple brand. So let’s take stock of what we assume and what we should expect: release date, price, different models, new features…
????️ When could iPhone 16 launch?
Putting aside the first iPhone and the SE model, we quickly realize that Apple seems to have gotten into the habit of making these new products official during the month of September. Thus, referring to the past calendar of the Apple brand, we can fully expect a speech in the first half of September 2024 through a traditional (and already highly anticipated) Apple Event.
We can only refer to Apple’s usual practices and estimate that the iPhone 16 range will be marketed in the weeks following the famous presentation event. We can therefore expect that users around the world will be able to put their hands on their new toy between the second part of September and the beginning of October 2024. The idea will obviously be to sell off the first stocks before carrying out a large restocking in anticipation of the Christmas holidays.

???? What would be the different iPhone 16 models?
If the first iPhone only had one model, the range began to develop and expand from the iPhone 4 and 4S, then the iPhone 5, 5S and 5C to a wider audience. The Plus versions then saw the light of day with Apple’s sixth smartphone iteration, while the Pro and Pro Max versions came to the iPhone 11 range in September 2019.
Thus, it is a safe bet that the iPhone 16 remains in line with its predecessor with four distinct models: the iPhone 16 classic, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max!
⚙️ What design changes can you expect?
Referring to the recent information leaks related to the iPhone 16, we expect the integration of a new SoC called “Tahiti” for the next range of Apple smartphones. It should therefore logically be a question of the use of the brand’s A18 and A18Pro chips: obviously, the first would be dedicated to the 16 and 16 Plus versions, while the second should equip the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models.
According to the patents and other information that has recently appeared on the web, the iPhone 16 should not accommodate an additional camera and should retain the Dynamic Island, while a Capture Button could appear. It could quite logically be used to take photos and videos, and should therefore be present on all iPhone 16 models. This would be‘a mechanism reacting to change in pressure : A long press could launch the camera app, while a short press could adjust the focus of the shot.

Another new feature particularly awaited and requested by users for several years: the transition to OLED. Indeed, Apple could take advantage of the development of this technology to finally equip its iPhones with it. It could therefore be a question of a screen made up of OLED panels with micro-lenses, thus making it possible to increase brightness levels and consume less energy. Conversely, some leaks suggest screen sizes greater than previous models: we are talking abouta 6.3-inch display for the iPhone 16 (compared to 6.1 inches for the iPhone 15 Pro), while the iPhone 16 Pro Max would rather rely on 6.9 inches (compared to 6.7 inches previously).
We also learn that LG and Samsung could very well provide this type of components to the Apple brand… We just have to wait for an official announcement from Apple to find out if this will be the case or not!
???? What new features could the iPhone 16 bring?
With the development of its range, Apple wants above all to focus on connectivity between all its devices. With this in mind, the iPhone 16 could therefore opt for Wi-Fi 7: a version four times faster than WiFi 6/6E and almost six times faster than WiFi 5, with a maximum data transmission speed of up to reach 40 Gbps. Still regarding the connectivity of the device, the integration of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 modem could push the iPhone 16 to focus on 5G Advanced, for much higher download and transfer speed than previous models.
For information, we are talking about a download speed of around 7.5 GB/s, with a component that consumes 20% less energy than the x70 model. Unfortunately, only the Pro and Pro Max versions of the iPhone 16 should benefit from it. The classic and Plus versions should, for their part, use the old chip already present in the iPhone 15, the X70 chip.

???? What changes can you expect for your camera?
An important element of each of the iPhone ranges until today, the iPhone 16 camera could use some improvements. Initially, it should adopt molded glass lenses, a first for Apple, in order to lighten the weight of the phone and benefit from even more efficient zoom.
Also new, the iPhone 16 Pro Max would be equipped with a “super telephoto lens” with a focal length greater than or equal to 300 mm. In more understandable terms, this would enable significant improvements to portrait mode photos, with softer backgrounds and increased sharpness. Likewise, Apple would like focus on the use of AI to drastically increase the possibilities for improvements and modifications shots.
For the rest, we would find a good number of elements already deployed on the previous range, such as the tetraprism telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, or the periscopic lens.
