Federal Council draws lessons from the Corona crisis – Frapp

These groups of people have had to endure particularly great suffering during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is what the Federal Council wrote in two reports that it published on Wednesday. It received the mandate from Parliament with five postulates that were passed. These called for an investigation into the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the elderly population and on the mental health of children and young people.

The state government wants to better manage future pandemics and crises, it writes. Lessons need to be learned, especially for retirement and nursing homes and for strengthening mental health.

“Retirement homes, nursing homes and residential homes for people with disabilities must prepare better for future pandemics,” says one of the reports. It is also important that individual mental health is generally strengthened.
