He added that the UAE is witnessing a comprehensive renaissance in all sectors and fields. He pointed out that the Federal National Council is keen to carry out its constitutional and legislative tasks in a way that enhances its role in the national development system and contribute to the comprehensive renaissance process that the country is witnessing in a way that meets the aspirations of the people and the leadership, stressing the Council’s keenness to be a model of sincere national parliamentary performance, in order to serve the people. In addition to the success of the Federal National Council in hosting the global parliamentary meeting, in partnership with the Inter-Parliamentary Union, on the sidelines of the parliamentary meeting accompanying the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), with the participation of 500 parliamentarians and experts representing 100 parliaments and international organizations. At the global level, with the aim of establishing a comprehensive platform for parliamentary dialogue, supporting urgent climate efforts at the national and international levels, and translating the commitments of the Conference of the Parties into implementable facts, stressing that this is the first time that this meeting has been held in the green zone for the work of the climate conference.
He said: At the level of its political role, the Council continued its tireless activity during its parliamentary diplomacy and its active external participation in regional and international parliamentary forums. The Council, through the efforts of its distinguished parliamentary division, through the issues it raises and adopts in terms of proposals that it presents in accordance with the best parliamentary approaches, helps reflect the civilized image. The state, and expressing its positions, regarding various national, regional and international events and issues, in addition to its active role in serving and supporting Arab and Islamic issues, and calling for adherence to peace, as a strategic option, to enhance stability in the Middle East region, which is embodied by the values and constants of the foreign policy of the UAE, Stemming from its cultural and humanitarian role, and its adherence to authentic Islamic and Arab values.
