We always show around here auctions promoted by IRS which include products from Apple. This time, however, we are facing the stage prior to the auction, which is the goods retentionfollowed by seizure and, finally, forfeiture if the owners do not present the necessary documents to regularize the situation.

Em old village (ES), the Customs Repression Team of the Federal Revenue of the Port of Vitória withheld several products in an electronics store. Of foreign origin, the devices, all from Apple, did not have documents proving the regularity of their entry into Brazil or their acquisition in the domestic market.

There were many products withheld, including Apple Watches, iPhones 14 Pro, MacBooksat least one 24 inch iMac com chip M1, iPads, third generation AirPods and even AirPods Max. Altogether, the value of the devices totals approx. R$190 milshowing the high value of the goods withheld.

According to Customs, the store was summoned to present the documents that prove the regularity of the acquisition of the products. If everything is presented, the goods will be returned; if there is no proof of legal entry of the devices into the country, however, the penalty of forfeit and items may be donated or auctioned off.

It is always important to pay attention when purchasing Apple products, or even from other companies, in unofficial stores, especially when the units sold are not manufactured in Brazil. The case shows how it is possible for such sales to come from irregular acquisitions, which can generate serious headaches.
