Federico Aramburu: They are looking for an extreme right-wing activist as the author of the ex-Puma crime | He was a marine commando and came to participate in military missions

Police in France are looking for a far-right activist, accused of being the alleged perpetrator of the shot murder of former Los Pumas member Federico Aramburu, 42, happened this Saturday, after an argument in a bar in the center of the city of Paris. Another man and a woman who accompanied the suspect are also wanted.

Aramburu was in Paris with his partner and former teammate at Biarritz Olimpique, Shaun Hegarty, to watch the Six Nations match between France and England.

According to the local media outlet Le Point, the French police are looking for Loïk Le Priol, a former military officer and French far-right activist, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the shot that ended the life of the former Argentine athlete.

Le Priol was a soldier and served as a marine commando and even participated in a mission in Djibouti. He is also a member of Group Union Défense, a far-right student group. Under these circumstances, in 2021 he was tried for the crime of “aggravated violence”, committed against a former member of that group. For that reason, he was a fugitive and was intensively sought by the local police.

In 2016, Le Priol, then 22 years old, founded the clothing brand “Babtou Solide Certifié” together with his girlfriend. “Babtou” is the inversion of the Senegalese word “toubab”, a type of slang used by young people to derogatorily refer to a Caucasian person. In that sense, he used the slogan “clothes created by whites for whites”.
