On the occasion of the ATP Awards 2023 which took place on Tuesday, Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime was awarded the Arthur Ashe humanitarian prize for his commitment as part of his #FAAPointsForChange solidarity program.

The Arthur Ashe Prize rewards a player each year for their solidarity actions. Félix thus succeeds prestigious players such as Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and André Agassi.

Launched in January 2020, in partnership with BNP Paribas and the NGO Care, the #FAAPointsForChange program supports education and the protection of children’s rights in Togo. Each point scored in a match by Félix on the ATP circuit is monetized to the tune of $20 ($5 by the player and $15 by BNP Paribas). Since the launch of the program, more than 19,956 points have been earned by Félix, thus raising $400,000. These donations have already made it possible to improve the daily lives of 2,500 young people around the following three pillars:

– Protection of children’s rights, with the financing of medical and psychological assistance and the provision of birth certificates to combat school dropout.

– Access to education, with the rehabilitation of schools, the provision of several school kits to children, the training of teachers and the offer of professional training to adolescents and apprentices.

– Finally, access to sport, with the rehabilitation of sports fields, the training of sports coaches, the creation of school and extracurricular clubs, the organization of training sessions and the distribution of equipment to children.
