Disgusted. Invited on BFMTV and RMC, the rebellious MP Clémentine Autain, known for her feminist commitments, assured this Friday that she felt “a feeling of betrayal” towards the psychoanalyst Gérard Miller, “a traveling companion of our political family”, targeted by dozens of accusations of sexual violence – which he contests.
“When you have someone who is in our political family, who defends the cause of women, who engages in feminist discourse, (…) to find yourself faced with that is unbearable,” denounced Clémentine Autain.
“The rumor about Gérard Miller never reached me”
Gérard Miller, regular columnist for several radio and television shows and support of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, is accused by around fifty women, some of them minors, for acts ranging from inappropriate behavior to rape.
Unlike Denis Baupin, former environmentalist deputy implicated for sexual assault in 2016, and Dominique Strauss-Kahn, where “there was a rumor, the rumor about Gérard Miller never reached me”, underlined Clémentine Autain .
“Between the Gérard Miller affair and everything that is happening in the world of cinema, I want to say to the great politicians: but where are they? What do they say ? », asked the MP for Seine-Saint-Denis, calling, like actress Judith Godrèche, for the creation of a parliamentary commission of inquiry into sexual violence in the world of cinema.
Hypnosis to attack?
In Elle, which published new testimonies targeting Gérard Miller on Thursday, and Mediapart, certain accusers assure that the psychoanalyst used hypnosis to attack them in his Parisian mansion, which he denies. A preliminary investigation was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office.
“Certain that I have not committed any offense and ready to respond to each of the alleged facts, I now wish to reserve my word for the judicial institution,” indicated Gérard Miller on February 23 in a written statement.
