Fernando Alonso of the Alpine F1 Team finished the 2022 opening round F1 Bahrain Grand Prix final in 9th place.
Two-time F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso returned to F1 last year because he was fascinated by the new regulations that leveled the field. He says he’s been able to get closer to the lead after racing on a new-generation F1 car, but tires were a more limiting factor in Bahrain.
“I’m happy to score two points in the first race of the season,” said Fernando Alonso.
“As we all expected for the race, the tire degradation was intense and not easy. We defended a lot in the first stint and pushed pretty hard, so it’s probably ideal. I didn’t. “
