At the 73rd congress FIFA in Kigali (Rwanda) a new format of the 2026 World Cup was approved.
48 teams will take part in the tournament, which will be divided into 12 groups of four teams. From each quartet, the first two teams will advance to the 1/16 finals, as well as the eight best teams that took 3rd place.
Final World Cup-2026, which will be held in USACanada and Mexico, will take place on July 19, 2026.
