A cigarette must be smoked in the country where it was purchased. This is the philosophy of the bill tabled last Tuesday in the National Assembly by Frédéric Valletoux (Horizons). Supported by around ten deputies from its group, the text proposes that an order of the Ministers of Health and the Budget fixes before December 31 of each year the maximum quantities of tobacco products likely to be delivered to tobacconists according to domestic consumption, increased by a maximum of 5%. Objective: dry up the cross-border tobacco market.
