Mark Kondratyuk, the 2022 Olympic champion in the team figure skating tournament, has been drafted into the army, CSKA Moscow reported.
They said that the 18-year-old athlete is doing military service in Balashikha.
The club clarified that Kondratyuk is an ordinary sports company of CSKA.
Mark Kondratyuk, coached by Svetlana Sokolovskaya, won the Champion and Russian titles in the 2021/2022 season.
In Beijing at the Olympic Games, the figure skater won gold as part of the Russian team. However, he did not receive the award because of the doping scandal with Kamila Valieva. In the men’s singles competition, the athlete took 15th place.
