Ecuador and Uruguay qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, to join Brazil and Argentina, who have qualified for the South American qualifiers.
Uruguay crossed to the World Cup by defeating Peru with a goal by Georgian de Arscaeta in the 42nd minute, to be the third win in a row after four consecutive defeats in the current qualifiers.
Uruguay almost lost the win after Peruvian Miguel Traocco’s shot was saved by Sergio Rochet, the first goalkeeper, in the alternate time of the second half.
The referee of the match indicated that the ball did not cross the goal line in its entire perimeter, to preserve Uruguay’s precious victory.
Uruguay will participate in the World Cup for the fourth consecutive time and the 14th in history, and won the title in 1930 and 1950.
And the Ecuador national team booked its seat despite the 3-1 defeat it received from Paraguay.
Robert Morlas, Peru Hencampde and Miguel Almiron scored Paraguay’s hat-trick, while Jordi Caicedo scored Ecuador’s only goal.
The Ecuadorean team froze at 25 points, but maintained its position in third place in the qualifiers table, with a goal difference only against Uruguay.
Ecuador took advantage of Uruguay’s victory over Peru in another match held at the same time, to accompany it to the finals.
Ecuador is playing the World Cup for the fourth time in its history.

He will play the fifth South American qualifier against an Asian team in the play-off.
In the last round on Tuesday, Peru, fifth with 21 points, will play its guest Paraguay, while Colombia will visit Venezuela, and Chile will play Uruguay.
