Zidane Iqbal after signing the contract with Manchester United
Zidane Iqbal, the Iraq and Manchester United player, talked about the possibility of him leaving the Red Team on loan, and stressed the quality of the relationship between his players and the new coach, Eric Ten Hag.
Iqbal said in comments via the Guardian newspaper: “Since I was young I love asking for the ball to do what I am supposed to do and I will have no regrets. Amazing, thank you.”
He continued, “I have grown up loving this club since I was eight years old, and playing in front of 90,000 spectators in Bangkok was one of my dreams, defeating Liverpool and even participating in the Champions League. It was hard to describe that.”
He continued, “If I have the opportunity to go out on loan, I will evaluate the pros and cons, but now it is premature and we do not know what the future holds.”
“There are no new Asian players, but if you are good enough you will succeed no matter where you come from, and I don’t give a damn about where you come from.”
He continued, “I’m just trying to complete my journey and whatever the end of it, I will give 100% of my effort in training and matches, and if I inspire people to the right path, that’s great.”
He concluded, “The coach knows what the team needs and how he wants to manage it. All the players have already known that method and they are really enjoying it. He is very practical and likes to hold a lot of sessions and if he sees people who do not meet the standards he demands in training, he will make sure that they apply them.”
Iqbal participated with Manchester United during the two friendlies in the team’s preparations for next season, against both Liverpool and Millport City.
