MD Entertainment and Enam Sembilan Production next year will release a film adaptation of the novel by Pidi Baiq entitled Ancika 1995. This film is a sequel to the films Dilan 1990 and 1991.
In this film, Dilan’s character is replaced by Arbani Yasiz, no longer Iqbaal Ramadhan. Budi Ismanto as producer explained the change in Dilan’s role.
At a press conference, the producer of the film Ancika 1995, Budi Ismanto, explained the change in the character of Dilan, previously played by Iqbaal Ramadhan, to Arbani Yasiz.
“Regarding why Arbani was chosen to replace Iqbaal, people know Dilan and Iqbal. But with the development of our team, creatively, so do I and Pidi Baiq. Why Arbani? From a physical aspect, he’s okay, his acting is okay,” said Budi Ismanto at a press conference in the region. Thamrin, Central Jakarta.
Previously, Budi Ismanto admitted that he had invited Iqbaal Ramadhan back to play the character of Dilan. However, the former CJR member said that he wanted to get away from the already iconic Dilan character
“Then why not Iqbaal? The problem is not with us, with Iqbaal. We have offered it to Iqbaal, but Iqbaal at that time reasoned through Pidi’s father, if I’m not mistaken, that he wanted to get out of Dilan’s character. In the end, Iqbaal refused to play again in the sequel this,” explained Budi Ismanto.
