Filmed in Lyon, Louis Garrel’s L’Innocent wins 11 César nominations

Mixing genres tinged with irresistible humour, Louis Garrel’s film won the day with these nominations, including that of best film and best director.

Released in 2022, filmed and presented in Lyon on the occasion of light festival last october, L’Innocent is a small nugget. Filled with humour, the film met with great success as soon as it was released in cinemas. It traces the story of Abel (played by Louis Garrel), whose mother has just married Michel, who has just been released from prison. Noémie Merlant excels there as a crazy best friend, Roschdy Zem as a former thug in love.

The feature film, shot in winter in Lyon, is in a good position for the Césars ceremony. He thus won 11 nominations: best film, best director, best actor, best supporting actress and best supporting actor, best editing, best sound, best costumes, best original screenplay and best original music.

The 2023 Césars ceremony will be held on February 24 and L’Innocent will therefore compete for the title of best film with other successes of the year, including In Body, Pacifiction et The Night of 12.
