Record winner Canada won the U20 Ice Hockey World Championship for the 19th time in Edmonton on Saturday. In the final, the hosts beat Finland 3-2 after extra time. Kent Johnson scored the decisive goal in the 64th minute.
Johnson’s teammate Mason McTavish provided the highlight of the finale. He kept his team in the game in extra time with a remarkable save: he stopped a Finnish finish in flight just in front of his own goal line. Austria’s team ended the World Cup with four defeats, but there were no relegations this year.
