France – Paris Saint-Germain’s French football striker, Kylian Mbappe, announced today, Friday, his departure from the French League champions at the end of the current season.
Kylian Mbappé, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, coming from Monaco, had extended his contract in 2022 until 2024, but last summer he refused to activate a clause allowing him to stay another year in the “Park des Princes.”
Mbappe said in a video clip posted on his official account on the “X” platform, that he will not extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
He added: “I will end my adventure in a few weeks. I will play my last match at the Parc des Princes Stadium on Sunday, against Toulouse in the penultimate thirty-third stage of the French League.”
He continued: “It is very difficult to leave my country, France, and the French League. I thank the coaches Emery, Tuchel, Pochettino, Galtier, Enrique, my teammates, and the fans. I hope to finish this season with one last title.”
Kababi, 25 years old, was hoping to end his adventure with the capital club in a better way by leading him to the Champions League final, but the journey ended on Tuesday in the semi-finals at the hands of German Borussia Dortmund, who won the second leg in Paris (1-0). The same result of the first leg at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.
Mbappe ends his seven-season journey in the colors of Saint-Germain by winning the French League title, with the possibility of winning the local treble after Spanish coach Luis Enrique’s team won the Champions Cup (Super Cup) at the beginning of the season, in addition to qualifying for the cup final, where it will face Lyon on May 25.
