President Joko Widodo admitted that he was grateful that the Plenary Cabinet Meeting could finally be held at the Garuda Palace, the Indonesian Capital (IKN), Monday (12/8). Almost all ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet were able to attend the inaugural meeting in the new capital.

Only the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati and the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Makarim did not attend the meeting.

The Head of State said that moving the capital city was not only about mobilizing the community, but also the mindset of all its residents.

The Nusantara concept is also a smart city supported by technology in every city activity and also a liveable city, a city that is comfortable to live in.

“We felt this morning how very cool, cold, and fresh it was in the morning because the air quality index was very low, at 6. Whereas the maximum is at 50. Many cities now have air indexes above 50,” said Jokowi. (Z-11)
