Finland cancels nuclear power plant construction contract with Russian Rosatom

A contract with the Russian group Rosatom to build a reactor nuclearin the north of Finland​ has been cancelled. The reason ? The additional risks linked to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Finnish-majority consortium leading the project announced on Monday.

” The war in ukraine has increased the risks of the project “located in Pyhäjoki on the shores of the Baltic Sea, justifies the Fennovoima consortium in a press release, also citing the “significant delays and the inability” of Rosatom “to complete” the Hanhikivi-1 reactor site .
