Firefighters confirm accident at Luz del Sur premises in Surquillo. The service was cut off more than half an hour ago.

The General Fire Department of Peru reported this Sunday night that it is responding to a fire at the Luz del Sur premises, located in the Surquillo district.
As a result of the incident, residents of the districts of Miraflores, San Borja, Surco, Surquillo, among others, reported that the electricity service had been cut for more than half an hour.
So far, according to the Firefighters there are at least 5 units attending to the case at the Chacarilla location. Av. Intihuatana No. 290, alt. cdras. 26 and 27 Av. Angamos Este.
alfredo mellydeputy manager of corporate relations at Luz del Sur, stated that the loss of electricity was caused by a partial discharge in a Balnearios substation.
“At this moment we have a medium-magnitude interruption caused by a partial discharge in one of our cells in the Balnearios substation, the cut affects the districts of Surco and San Borja, mainly, and at this moment our operating crews are in the area They have started the service replacement process and in half an hour we will be starting to return the service to this affected area”he told RPP News.
