This Saturday afternoon, January 27th a building caught fire in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Almagro. The outbreak began on the fourth floor of the building located in Bulnes and Currents. Firefighters had to rescue its inhabitants and managed to control the fire.
Firefighters and SAME worked together to rescue and assist families who were trapped in the apartments. At least 10 people had to be evacuated and Two neighbors were taken to the hospital for poisoning.
The fire started shortly after 5 p.m. in the 14-story building. As can be seen in the video that records the moment, the smoke invaded the entire place and the owner of the property tried to escape the flames through the balcony, but he was able to be rescued.
“We are experiencing a lot of desperation”
A neighbor affected by the fire told TN: “We are experiencing a lot of desperation.” The woman told what she experienced and details of the incident.

“I was watching TV and I started to hear him shouting ‘fire, fire’. When I came out I saw a huge flame and everything was white. I grabbed my dog and everything I could and left down the stairs.. Then neighbors from another building came to help us,” Giuliana said.
He also said that in addition to the firefighters, residents of other buildings ran to help them. “They guided us down the stairs, because I was with my dog and he is very heavy, I couldn’t carry him,” he explained.
“Luckily I was saved, because someone screamed, otherwise I would be trapped,” she concluded.
