An alarm was given to the Fire Department for a fire that broke out late Friday afternoon in Karpathos, specifically in the island’s landfill.
A force from the Fire Department rushed to the scene in order to deal with the front, while citizens and visitors of the island also received a warning message from 112.
“Fire at the waste collection site (LANDFILL) of Karpathos. If you are in the Menetes area of Karpathos, stay ready and follow the instructions of the Authorities”, says the notification of Civil Protection through 112.
The fire was extinguished after the intervention of the forces.
