Fire in Lévis: a resident flees through the window to escape the blaze

A Lévisien had a narrow escape on the night of Saturday to Sunday, when he had to evacuate his house in flames by breaking down his rear window.

The fire in the residence located on Chemin des Sables, in the Pintendre district, broke out around 12:10 a.m. When the firefighters arrived, the house was already in a general conflagration. Due to a fear that the blaze would spread to the neighboring house, a third alarm (out of a possible five) was triggered.

Having been able to save himself in extremis from the blaze, the victim was transported to a hospital center to treat “significant lacerations due to the cut glass he had to pass”, specified Hugo Laflamme, chief of operations at the Security Service. Lévis fire.

The fire was brought under control two hours later. “Unfortunately, everything indicates that the house will be a total loss,” added Mr. Laflamme.
