A fire broke out on Saturday evening in rue du Pavillon in Schaerbeek. No injuries were reported, Brussels firefighters said.

The fire broke out in a building housing a restaurant on the ground floor. People living on the top floor were able to be evacuated, while another apartment was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

The fire was caused by overheating in the exhaust ducts of the restaurant’s hoods. It has since been brought under control and no damage has been noted to homes, firefighters said.
