Fire in Russian oil warehouse after Ukrainian drone attack

Rostov Governor Vasilij Golubev confirms that several oil tanks are on fire after the attack, while writing on Telegram that no one was injured in the attack and that fire crews are working to extinguish the fire.

The Telegram channel Baza, which is close to Russia’s security services, writes that there was a fire in three tanks after two drones fell on the warehouse.

The Russian Air Force says it shot down four Ukrainian drones over the region during the night to Wednesday, but does not mention anything about the fire in the oil storage.

Ukraine has not commented on the attack, which comes while tanks are still on fire at another oil storage facility in Rostov, this one in the Proletarsk district. The fire is still raging ten days after an attack on the warehouse, Russian Telegram channels write.

At the same time, Governor Aleksandr Gusev of the Voronezh region, which also borders Ukraine, reports that debris from a Ukrainian drone that was shot over the region led to fires near things that could easily explode.

The fire is out, writes Gusev on Telegram. People in two settlements were temporarily evacuated and can return home.

Both countries deny that they attack civilian targets. Ukraine says it is trying to destroy energy, transport and military infrastructure vital to Russian warfare.
