The fire broke out not far from the hiking trail on the Zwillingkogel at around 1000 meters above sea level. The FF Grünau im Almtal and the mountain rescue service climbed to the source of the fire and began extinguishing the fire. They received support from the air with several water drops by the police helicopter. The fire brigade also used a drone with a thermal imaging camera to locate any embers.
