Fires: “The situation is almost under control”

In the Santa Elena ranch, on a hill behind the La Concepción gated community, in the La República ranch on Route 47, and in Campos de Olivera, the different fires spread.

Firefighters worked with 17 mobiles. Reinforcements arrived from Navarro, Mercedes and other towns. It is presumed that the fires were not intentional. The same due to the wind factor would continue during the night

Once once more from the Fire Department they ratified that “everything was chaos.” Only one firefighter went until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, transferred to the Local Hospital with suffocation from smoke.

The fire broke out in Jauregui and spread, due to the wind, to the Olivera area, along Route 5, the fire passed the highway and reached Estancia La República.

The fire was controlled in the Cerealera and in the Termoplástica located on Route 5 between Jáuregui and Olivera. On a mountain located behind the La Concepción neighborhood, the fire would have originated following someone lit some branches.

“The situation is under control, we work all night, we are very exhausted,” they said.
