The occupancy of Austrian hospital beds and the loss of staff in the hospitals continue to rise – we have reported. That is why the federal government has decided to tighten the corona measures again. Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, the following adjustments will come into effect:
This will change from tomorrow:
- There will be one again throughout Austria FFP2 mask requirement indoors be valid.
- The federal government will Revise the segregation rules for infected peoplein order to facilitate the personnel situation, especially for hospitals, old people’s and nursing homes.
- The federal government makes a recommendation for this Home-Office the end.
The ordinance, which is due to come into force at midnight today, is still pending. However, the details of the regulations were already worked out over the weekend. According to several media reports, these look like this:
Either mask or 3G proof?
The first drafts of the new regulation state that either an FFP2 mask must be worn or 3G proof must be presented if one wants to visit trade, service companies, events, hotels, sports facilities or leisure and cultural facilities. The respective operator and not the individual visitor has to decide what applies.
Where do I have to wear a mask?
If the submission of a 3G proof is not required, a mask requirement applies in the following areas:
- in trade
- in service companies
- in the (night) gastronomy (except at the seat)
- in the hotel industry
- in public transport, coaches and cable cars
- sports facilities
- leisure and cultural facilities
- at events (with more than 25 participants)
- at work (unless there are other suitable protective measures)
