While the plot of “Bring Her Back” has been kept under wraps, can you give us a little insight into what fans can expect from the film?
Danny: “In ‘Bring Her Back,’ we wanted to explore a different kind of horror – one that’s deeply rooted in family dynamics and the dark secrets that can lurk within our own homes. Our protagonists, a brother and sister, find themselves in a terrifying ordeal when theytrigger an ancient and sinister ritual in their new foster mother’s house. It’s a chilling journey into the unknown that we hope will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Working with a Stellar Cast
A24 has assembled a fantastic cast for “Bring Her Back,” including Sally Hawkins and rising stars Billy Barratt, Sora Wong, and Jonah Wren Phillips. What was it like working with such a talented ensemble?
Danny: “It was an absolute dream come true. We’ve long been admirers of Sally’s work, and it was a genuine pleasure to have her on board. As for Billy, Sora, and Jonah – they brought a level of talent and maturity that truly surpassed their years.Their performances have elevated the film in ways we could never have imagined, and we feel incredibly blessed to have had them as part of our ‘Bring Her Back’ family.

With “Talk to Me,” you and Michael delivered a unique blend of psychological horror and unsettling imagery. How would you describe the distinct vibe of “Bring Her Back”?
Danny: “We really pushed ourselves with ‘Bring Her Back’ to create an atmospheric and immersive horror experience that goes beyond its surface-level scares. We’re still exploring psychological elements, but we’ve also leaned more into the folklore and ancient rituals that have always fascinated us. We wanted to make something that feels truly fresh and unsettling, while still retaining that distinct Philippou touch.”

The film has already secured a global distribution deal with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, with A24 handling domestic distribution. How does it feel to have your work reaching such a wide audience?
Danny: “It’s extremely humbling and gratifying. As filmmakers, we create our work with the hope that it will connect with people, and knowing that ‘Bring Her Back’ will be seen in so many countries around the world is an incredible feeling. We can’t wait for audiences to experience it.
