First monkeypox death in Europe

Spain is the most affected country in the world, with 4,298 confirmed cases. Of the 3,750 infected people for whom information is available, 120 are hospitalized. One of these patients died.

The group most affected by the disease are men who have sex with men.

Earlier, Brazilian authorities announced that a 41-year-old man with monkeypox had died in Brazil, the first disease-related death outside Africa and sixth overall.
