Police authorities in Lyon County, where the incident took place, said they received calls about a plane crash around 9:15 p.m. local time on Friday. The debris was found about two hours later.

The pilot reportedly lost control of his plane as it drove through a major snowstorm, which is still battering parts of the United States today.

In addition to the pilot, a nurse, a member of the paramedic team, a patient and a family member perished in this event. They were the only five people on board.

The families of the victims have been notified of the event. The National Transportation Safety Board, which went to see the situation on Saturday, will hold a press briefing on Sunday morning to give the latest updates.
