Pathanamthitta : Police arrested five Nepali youths from their residence in Lower Vettiprat with about 2.5 kg ganja.
The accused were arrested in a joint operation by the District Dansaf team and the Pathanamthitta police.
Bipin Kumar (20), Suman Chaudhary (22), Suresh Chaudhary (27) from Bardia district of Nepal, Om Kumar (21) and Deepak Malli (31) from Japa district of Nepal were arrested.
The Dansaf team had been monitoring the area for several days after receiving information that ganja was being traded around the chicken shops and hotels in the town. The accused admitted that they had smuggled ganja from Nepal. It was also revealed that it was kept for retail trade.
