Five TV series not to be missed in April. Finally the crazy, radioactive apocalypse of Fallout

Two considerations. The Three Body Problem series on Netflix inspired by the science fiction novel by Liu Cixin is something not to be missed for a science fiction enthusiast (but not only). Lost orphans are invited to watch. The second is that Shōgun on Disney+ is spectacular and not just for those who love loyal Japan, samurai and honor. That said, April doesn’t hold any big surprises. Luckily there’s Fallout. Anyone who has played the video game already knows everything and will be ready on the sofa with popcorn. Those who hear it for the first time know that it is not the usual apocalyptic genre, it is the apocalypse made in the shape of an apartment building, a crazy and sick Titanic in a radioactive desert. I could go on with the adjectives but it’s only to stimulate attention and curiosity. Good vision.

Fallout, official trailer

Two hundred years after the apocalypse, the inhabitants of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the hellish radioactive environment their ancestors left behind. What they will find is absurd and sick. The series serves as the story of the haves and have-nots in a world where there is almost nothing left to have. The video game series from which it is inspired is one of the best things produced by the video game industry. (Amazon Prime Video).

Brigands, official Netflix trailer

Brigands – Season 1 – April 23

Briganti is fine if you don’t take our history into account. Because he doesn’t talk about our bandits but about romantic bandits who never existed. The trailer is a good example of the work of fiction that Netflix wanted. So enjoy the show but don’t expect to learn anything about our history. In other words, there is no intent of historical revisionism. Just the urge to produce stories that are attractive to the algorithm. (Netflix)

Anthracite (2024). The Italian trailer for Netflix’s French thriller miniseries

Anthracite – Miniseries – April 10

French thriller miniseries of 6 episodes that puts the spotlight back on a mass suicide that occurred in 1994, 30 years before the year in which the story is set. We know very little about this series, only that it is not just crime or even a thriller. It’s a mix that might surprise you. (Netflix)

The premise is that if Bridgerton has become a global success it is also because historical costume TV series with related intrigue work. Mary & George is presented with a historical psychodrama that tells the story of Mary Villiers played by Julianne Moore and her second son George who grows up to seduce King James VI of Scotland. So scandals, intrigues and machinations. It’s all there. (Now TV and Sky Atlantic).
